How to Prepare for Your Cleaning Appointment with Nature’s Way Carpet Cleaning

At Nature’s Way Carpet Cleaning, our mission is to deliver a safe, effective, and eco-friendly deep clean for your carpets and upholstery. We bring professional-grade tools, chemical-free products, and years of expertise into your home. But the best results happen when we work together.

Please take time to read through the steps below. Each section outlines what we do and what you, as the homeowner, are asked to do both before and after your appointment. Your preparation helps protect your space and allows us to provide a smoother, more thorough cleaning.

Upholstery Cleaning

What We Do

  • Perform a light pre-vacuum of upholstery and crevices before applying moisture
  • Use non-toxic, hypoallergenic cleaning products safe for kids, pets, and sensitive skin
  • Position upholstery pieces to maximize airflow and support proper drying
  • Handle your furniture and home with care, using protective tools as needed

What We Ask You to Do Before We Arrive

  • Remove as much pet hair, crumbs, and loose debris as possible from upholstery
  • If your upholstery hasn’t been vacuumed in a while, we are happy to handle it, but additional charges will apply for the extra preparation and time needed to remove pet hair and debris. We do include a light vacuuming before deep cleaning begins as part of our service.
  • Take all fragile or valuable items out of the area being cleaned

What We Ask You to Do After Cleaning

  • We will leave cushions propped for airflow
  • Do not place cushions back until they are fully dry to prevent mildew or re-soiling

Carpet Cleaning

What We Do

  • Pre-vacuum all carpeted areas before applying our cleaning solutions
  • We use high-performance truck-mounted extraction systems that run on demineralized water, which we supply ourselves. There’s no need to provide a water source. Unlike portable machines often used by other companies, our equipment is designed for deep, consistent results and higher-quality cleaning.
  • Apply family- and pet-safe products that leave no harsh chemical residue
  • Move up to three standard furniture items (sofas, chairs, tables); sectionals and movable beds may incur small fees
  • Extract moisture thoroughly for faster drying, usually between 4 and 8 hours
  • Use drop cloths and corner guards to protect your floors and walls
  • Collect and remove all wastewater using sealed tanks on our service vans

What We Ask You to Do Before We Arrive

  • Vacuum carpets in advance if they haven’t been cleaned in the past week
  • Leave driveway space open near your home’s main entrance for equipment access
  • Clear paths to all rooms or areas to be cleaned
  • Let us know in advance if more than three furniture pieces need to be moved. Sectionals count as multiple pieces and additional items may incur a $5 fee per item; movable beds can be handled for $30
  • Remove breakables and items of value from any furniture or cleaning zones

What We Ask You to Do After Cleaning

  • Dry times may vary from 4 to 24 hours depending on humidity or added treatments
  • Carpets are safe to walk on but may be damp. Avoid walking in socks, which can become slippery
  • Wear clean house slippers
  • Please keep your thermostat set between 68 and 72°F and ensure the HVAC system is running while we are cleaning. This helps manage indoor temperature during the use of high-heat equipment and supports faster, more effective drying. Be sure to switch the fan setting from “auto” to “on” to keep air circulating.

General Safety & Access

What We Do

  • Use door seals to prevent temperature loss and keep out pets and pests
  • Lay protective coverings and guards to safeguard your home’s surfaces
  • Maintain safe and respectful working practices during setup and cleanup

What We Ask You to Do Before We Arrive

  • Ensure pets and children are kept clear of the work area during setup and while equipment is in use
  • Remove any trip hazards or blockages from entry points and cleaning areas
